GED Test Scores

GED Test Scores – What I need to pass?

The 60th percentile of high school graduating seniors is used as the standard level for a passing score on the test.  The testing service has set the minimum GED test scores to pass to be averaged at 450 or more on each field which equals out to 2250 or higher for a total standard score.  Test takers may not score less than a 410 in each field with these being set by the area’s jurisdiction.  Jurisdictions are not allowed to set their requirements below this mark either.  This works out because it allows an individual to make up for points in a certain area if one is not their strong point as long as they get over 410.

GED Test Scores– The Scale

GED Test scores are scaled between the numbers 200-800 points in the area of the content.  On average the standard score is 500.
When looking at the percentile rank, it stretches from the lowest being 1 and the highest being 99.  This identifies the percentage amount of high school students graduating that earned scores that were below of at your achieved GED test scores.  For example, if one was in the 65 percentile it would mean that 65 percent of high school seniors earned the same score or lower than what you earned.
